Masteron is drostanolone, a 2-methylated derivative of dihydrotestosterone. Because the A-ring is already reduced, it is not a substrate for aromatase and does not convert to oestrogen.
Beyond simply not aromatising, it has documented anti-oestrogenic activity through interaction with the aromatase enzyme itself, which is what distinguishes it from other non-aromatising compounds and why it appears in the literature in that role as well as for its own effects.
